SOLD OUT!
SHE'S BACK!
COSY SHERIDAN!
FRIDAY
MARCH 7, 8:00 PM
Cosy Sheridan graced our stage in a SOLD OUT performance two years ago with Erica Wheeler. This time it will be an evening of JUST COSY! With her, this time, she'll bring many new tunes from her upcoming TWO CDs: BOTOX TANGO and THE POMEGRANATE SEED
Described somewhere in the uncharted territory between Mary Chapin Carpenter, Dr. Ruth and Deepak Chopra, Cosy writes tunes on topics that most artists would not dream of touching! "A Buddhist monk in a twelve-step program, trapped in the body of a singer-songwriter." Albuquerque Journal, she can charm the socks off a crowd! She is "a wonderfully lively, very funny and enormously amiable entertainer, with a keen and wicked eye for the excesses of our fast-food, tv-happy and noisome culture." the Boston Globe. "It takes confidence, courage , and intelligence to play relevant folk music. Cosy has all three." The Spotlight (Portsmouth NH). The title of her new two upcoming CDs (she already has 5 to her credit!) should give you an idea. Titles of songs on BOTOX TANGO include: Underwear, All Alone with a Bathing Suit, The Ladies Room, PMS, Barbie and more! The POMEGRANATE SEED features the music from Cosy's one-woman show of the same title, a musicalogue which examines the coming-of-age of women in contemporary society (with emphasis on body image) and profiles one woman's spiritual journey into the underworld of her return as a more vibrant and more compassionate person. BUT, don't let the titles fool you! Much of Cosy's music is also very touching, and brings us all closer to relationships we may have in our past and/or present. "Sheridan still remains the unapologetic voice of our conscience. Whether she's addressing environmental issues or social injustice or interpersonal abuse, she deftly delivers the message with honesty and grace." .The Album Network
Cosy is the winner of the 1992 Telluride Troubadour contest, 1992 Kerrville NewFolk showcase, 1994 Falcon Ridge Songwriter Showcase, contributing writer to Acoustic Guitar Magazine (1997, 98, 99) and has instructed at the Swannanoa Gathering, SummerSong Music Camp and Moab (Utah) Writer's in Exile Retreat.
Here are some samples of Cosy's music.
