SOLD OUT!!!

DAVID ROTH

SATURDAY, JULY 23

8:00 PM

David is back!!!We've been waiting for nearly 4 years! Check out show number 16 WAY BELOW. His show July 23rd will be the 46th show at Little Lake Hill and we are thrilled to have him here again!

David's show several years ago sold out in a short time. His fans and even first time listeners can tell you why! His show was one of the most memorable here ever, so we are really happy to bring him back! As Dan Millman says below, "David's songs open my mind, lift my spirits, and tickle my funny bone."---and he will do just that! Since he was here last he has THREE new CD's (one is a double disc),  Don't Think Twice, and Pearl Diver (which is only available in Germany and parts of Europe!)

David opened as the New Folk Winner, the Chicago native (and two-time national anthem singer for the NBA's Michael Jordan-era Bulls) and has garnered accolades for his performances, workshops, writing, and recordings. He's subsequently been a songwriting judge at other national competitions including Kerrville, Napa Valley (CA), Tumbleweed (WA), and the South Florida Folk Festival. In addition to singing "Earth" at the 40th Anniversary of the United Nations, David's "Rising in Love" was performed at the 100th Anniversary of Carnegie Hall in 1991, and "Manuel Garcia" and "Nine Gold Medals" both appear in the international best-selling Chicken Soup for the Soul series by Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen, available in bookstores throughout the world. Noel Paul Stookey (of Peter, Paul & Mary) performed David's "Spacesuits" on the 1999/2000 PPM tours and recorded "If You Can't Fly" for his 2002 children's album "World Around Song". The BOSE Corporation includes "Taller Than My Hair" and "Five Blind Men" on their recent "best of new folk" compilations sold in Bose stores worldwide.

David has 8 CDs on Chicago's Wind River label (www.folkera.com/windriver), a ninth on Germany's Stockfisch label (www.stockfisch-records.de), is endorsed by Elixir Strings and Martin Guitars, and is a member of the National Speakers Association, giving keynotes and workshops at a wide variety of conferences, trainings, and special events across North America. Several of David's songs also appear in the business best-selling books Care Packages for the Workplace and Care Packages for the Home by Barbara Glanz (published by McGraw-Hill and Andrews-McMeel respectively).

In addition to performing at music festivals, concert halls, clubs, and other venues, David leads singing, songwriting, and performance workshops at many music camps around the country (he was artist-in-residence for several years at New York's Omega Institute, one of the country's leading adult education centers). --- WOW!!!!

Here are just a FEW comments about David's performances and music:

"David's songs open my mind, lift my spirits, and tickle my funny bone.
Here's a man with a devoted following, yet to be discovered by the world at large. It's only a matter of time."
Dan Millman, author Way of the Peaceful Warrior

"Our first choice to keynote the Minnesota Peer Helpers Association for counselors, teachers, community leaders, and social workers was David. Among the raves, several said it was one of the most powerful mornings of their lives. Plus, we didn't have to go after our second choices - Hillary and Chelsea Clinton."
Rob Kesselring, Conference Coordinator, MPHA

"We had David as a presenter at our 10th, 11th, and 18th annual international conferences on "The Positive Power of Humor and Creativity".
The 3,000+ diverse people who attended loved him. His talent is unique, his appeal universal, his stage presence incredible, his touching, funny, thought and emotion-provoking songs are remarkable." Dr. Joel Goodman, founder The Humor Project, Saratoga Springs, NY

"If you're not familiar with David's work, you'll be astonished..." - Princeton Folk Music Society, NJ

"I'd heard he was good. I didn't know he was THAT good..." - Phil Shapiro, "Bound for Glory", WVBR-FM, Ithaca, NY

"Very special, and worth a trip from anywhere..." - Brandi Hayden, Good Folk Coffeehouse, Rowayton, CT

"Startling...original...as likable and unpretentious a presence as has ever graced any stage in town..." - David Starnes, Savannah News-Press, GA

"David is one of the finest singers and songwriters around..." - Tom Chapin

"Over the years I've presented many great singer-songwriters...Cheryl Wheeler, Cliff Eberhardt, Darden Smith, Patty Larkin, Vance Gilbert, Eric Anderson, Ellis Paul, David Massengill, to name a few. If someone asked me who has been my personal favorite, I would quickly reply 'David Roth'..." - Steve Coccia, Mansion Concerts, Middletown, NY

"I really dropped my teeth when I heard a song on the radio that I thought was written by Tom Paxton. When I went around looking for the author is when I heard this dynamic, exciting singer-songwriter come forth. His name is David Roth"  Dave Sear (on NPR's Folk Almanac)

"We hire some pretty classy talent at San Diego Folk Heritage. David Roth gave a performance that surpassed some of the biggest names in folk music. I can't remember when we had a better concert." Tim Day, Vice Chair, San Diego Folk Heritage

"I love your albums...though there are some times I can't find two and two, much less put them together, I'm trying to do both here by congratulating you on some fine writing..." - Noel Paul Stookey, (Peter, Paul & Mary)

"If you're not familiar with David's work, you'll be astonished..." - Princeton Folk Music Society, NJ

"David Roth, a powerful new singer-songwriter has reached our hearts.
With voices like his still singing, there's a certainty that the candle will remain lit, the hope reasserted and the dream still sung..." - Peter Yarrow (Peter, Paul & Mary)
