PAUL REISLER with DIANE BARDWELL

Paul Reisler is the founder and leader of 'chamber-folk' acoustic ensemble TRAPEZOID. His music crosses the boundaries of folk, jazz, new age and world. He performs on hammered dulcimer and guitar, telling stories with his music. He has recorded 8 albums with Trapezoid as well as a duo album of original instrumentals with Bob Read (of Bruce Hornsby Band). He has recorded more than 2 dozen other albums with various artists including John McCutcheon, Sally Rogers, Holly Near, Beth Nielsen-Chapman and more. He also composes for television, film and theatre. He's currently writing a full length piece for orchestra and narrator based on Aesop's Fables with a libretto by Tom Paxton. Paul is the creator of "KID PAN ALLEY", a children's songwriting project. A CD of the songs he wrote with over 600 children in Virginia TIDAL WAVE OF SONG, brought together the entire community of musicians and artists. He is currently working on other KID PAN ALLEY projects. He also instructs in various workshops, Rocky Mountain Folks Song School, Kerrville School, Common Ground, Swannanoa Gathering and many more.

Joining him is singer Diane Bardwell. Her rich, warm voice, and the emotion with which she sings puts a life to Paul's music . Heartsong Review calls her voice, "sweet and angelic...pierces straight through to the heart and soul." She's been performing since 1974, playing with the rock band, Jump Street, original acoustic group Anahata and the Celtic duo Almost Avalon.

Acoustic Music Magazine calls Reisler "a talented and innovative force in acoustic music." He is also an extremely versatile one. Greenville (SC) News says "Paul Reisler is certainly a leader among those who blend the categories, who redefine eclectic or take eclectic to new and wonderful territories". All Music Guide  says of his music played by Trapezoid, "The vocals are pure poetry. The ensemble treats there original tunes by Paul Reisler with the reverence of old traditional ones but with a daring of Promethean proportions."

Paul's musicianship is impeccable! Some of the most beautiful melodies I've ever heard....have a listen yourselves!
