CHULRUA!!!!

Pinch me! I must be dreaming! A real, authentic IRISH band, here at Little Lake Hill on St. Paddy's Day! YES! CHULRUA (pronounced cool-RU-a) is a MUST for Irish music lover! The music they play is the old instrumental dance music of Ireland: jigs, reels, hornpipes, polkas and slides... also marches, songs, slow airs, and the harp music of Turlough O'Carolan and others. They strive to present these tunes and songs in keeping with the old tradition as they were handed down from generation to generation in Ireland. The heart of Irish music is the session where tunes are played and traded. They can be held anywhere, but are usually best and most relaxed and enjoyed in a small, intimate place like the kitchen of a HOUSE, or a small pub.

Paddy O'Brien (button accordion), all Ireland senior accordion champion and 4-time Oireachtas champion has recorded and played with the famed Castle Ceili Band, and many others. He has been featured on 3 Shanachie recording sand released his first solo album, STRANGER AT THE GATE on Green Linnet. In 1994, he received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to record and annotate 500 reels and jigs from his vast (5000)repertore of traditional tunes. The result of that effort, The Paddy O'Brien Tune Collection, A Personal Treasury of Irish Jigs and Reels.

Tim Britton on Uilleann Pipes, Flute and Whistle is among the foremost of a generation making innovative contributions to the Irish tradition. He has performed with Touchstone, Johnny Cunningham, Gerald Trimble, Mick Moloney, Bela Fleck, John McCutcheon,....and the list goes on...

Pat Egan, Guitar and Vocals...is blessed with a great ear for songs, and the perfect voice with which to sing them. He is a recognized force on the contemporary folk scene, appearing in concerts, radio and TV in Europe and the USA. He is in a great demand as a guest artist, appearing on a number of critically acclaimed traditional recordings. He splits his time between Ireland and the US.
